FG 2

The FG 2 is an incremental solid shaft encoder with an appealing price-performance ratio and is available immediately from stock. Its bearings are designed to provide higher load ratings and ensure the FG 2 offers greater reliability and a long service life. Thanks to its generously dimensioned axial terminal box the device is easy to configure with vibration-proof plug-in connectors utilizing spring cage technology. Dedicated LEDs signal when faults occur in the supply voltage as well as when the output stage is overloaded. The FG 2 is rated to protection class IP66, which means it is ideally suited for applications in salt-laden environments. It is possible to add an overspeed protection switch on request. The FG 2 is designed for a maximum speed of 7000 rpm.

AS... 40 Singleturn

Absolute encoders from Johannes Huebner Giessen are designed for operations in extreme operating conditions: They have a robust, thick-walled aluminium casing and large ball bearings with a high dynamic load rating; the encapsulated interior space remains sealed even when the generously dimensioned terminal box is open. All screwed connections are vibration resistant. The singleturn version of the absolute encoder with a solid shaft AS… 40 is compatible with all customary interfaces, such as PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET IO, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, SSI and parallel interfaces and can be supplied with an incremental output, if required. The singleturn version offers a maximum resolution up to 16 bit (steps per revolution: 65536). A second shaft end is available on request.

U-ONE® system: Basic unit

UOM 4L basic unit

The universal encoder system U-ONE from Johannes Huebner Giessen combines speed, position and overspeed detection in a single unit. The system includes a universal basic unit that is connected to the electronic function modules on the switchboard via EMC proof fiber optic cable. Encased in a rugged aluminium casing the basic unit UOM 4L-1212 is designed for maximum speeds up to 3000 rpm. The device is available as construction types B5 with flange and B35 with flange and foot. To facilitate flexible configuration of the U-ONE system it is possible to arrange the ten function modules that also belong to the system side-by-side in any order.

U-ONE-Compact

With our U-ONE®-Compact UOC 40 and U-ONE®-SAFETY-Compact USC 42 (SIL 2 / PL d) we at Johannes Hübner Giessen have developed a universal encoder system that not only reduces costs, but also implements useful additional functions at the same time. Thanks to the compact combination of different electronic function modules there is now no need for the otherwise usual array of additional mechanical components such as distribution gears, couplings and speed step-up gearing.

No matter if destined for drive shafts on ships, for engines powering open-cast mining excavators, for tandem motors or gas and water turbines – incremental magnetic encoders from Johannes Huebner Giessen are a reliable, safe and flexible solution for even the harshest of environments. Utilizing a magnetic, non contact scanning principle the encoders are tolerant of large axial and radial play. Large shaft diameters up to 1500 mm possible. The noiseless magnetic encoders do not generate any heat. The version with a with split pulse wheel is particularly suitable for retrofitting and upgrade projects.

Electronic position switch

ERC 40

A particularly striking feature of mechanical rotary cam limit switches used in heavy industry is the high level of manual maintenance they require. That leads to long plant standstill times and increased costs for the companies. In response Johannes Hübner Giessen is now introducing onto the market the new ERC 40, an intelligent electronic position switch with as many as 15 relay outputs. This makes it possible to dispense with mechanical rotary cam limit switches – and implement additional, useful functions at the same time. It makes a huge contribution to operating plant economically, because amongst other positive aspects it automates, simplifies and reduces the expensive maintenance tasks required to date.
